Life in the fast lane......

March?!? ok, could someone slooooooooow things down a little for me... it's now 3 months and 10 days until, the wedding, yes I am counting, so ;o) Still lots to be done, but doing it bit by bit slowly... do I fret things won't come together? yes, do I know that they will? yes.

I worked Saturday so my weekend was Sunday/Monday. Sunday consisted of mundane (has to be done) housework in the morning, having slept till late... yes, most unlike me. The afternoon was fun filled! hooking up with my friend MJ aka The Monk!! at the Quay for cawfee and then some Tantric Lips and a burger LOL! ya kinda had to be there ;o) (just so you know, Tantric Lips are chicken strips hehe) Monday flew by as I was making some cutesy little soaps to restock my little business at a certain Gallery and I slumped at the end of it with wine and a good episode of "The Jack Bauer Super Hero Power Hour", aka *24*... thanks to MJ for the title now stuck in my head

My sweetheart is away in Arnie territory.. or California if we want to get picky, and although he is scheduled home tomorrow YAY! it might not be until Thursday or Friday. BOO!.. but that's the way it goes..... I miss and love him sooo much (yes manadatory sappy moment)

Today was crazy busy, up at 5am, as per.... off to work, out of work, raced downtown had various bits waxed *sigh*, I always forget how much eyebrow tweezering hurts until I get it done again.... then back on the bus, off at the gymn, worked my arse off cause last week I was lazy (and had a cold), home again, showered... getting ready for a friend coming over for some yummy dinner and to watch the 2 hour premiere of the new season of "The Amazing Race".... and after spewing all that out, I think I need a wine :o)

Sadly our opener was not on the winning side, grumble.... damn Brumbies.... grumble. Anyhow, thanks to my best friend, I've signed up here to have some fun. I missed week one, but lets see how we do hehe...

Tis a beautiful Saturday morning!

The birds are singing, and eating our seed, the sun is shining and I am not working! yay... feels good.

So last night we went to hockey, yes! hockey, if you can believe it. The WHL league (which is not locked out) Vancouver Giants vs Kamloops Blazers, with the Giants kicking ass 6-2 over the Loops.... it was a pretty fun game with the star of the Giants, Gilbert Brule, tucking away 4 goals. The Giants head to Kamloops tonight for the second half of a home and home, and I dare say the Blazers will want to have a better result for them.

So not to much on the agenda this weekend, just taking it easy, doing a little wedding stuff and generally relaxing. I want to say a big HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! to my girlfriend Jude! Hope you have a great day hun and can't wait to see you in June!

When does football season start again?

I have to say, without the NHL season this year it has been pretty weird in the world of sport, well in North America, actually probably just in Canada, as most Americans don't give a toodles about hockey anyway. In the beginning I was hoping, halfway through I was like "ok, get on with it" and now, give me back my money, stop acting like children and find a way to get this deal done! The plus side to all of this of course is that there is still plenty of hockey going on, minor leagues of course and we also have our own local WHL (Western Hockey League) team, the Vancouver Giants. Speaking of the Giants, my honey and I are off to enjoy one of my xmas gifts next Friday night, when the Vancouver boys take on Adam's home town team, the Kamloops Blazers, should be great! I wonder which way Adam will cheer for ;o)

Under 4 months till my friends and family arrive for the wedding, and I can't wait to see them all. My nephew Owen will have his 17th birthday 3 days before the wedding, 17!! I can't believe he is that old already, I remember changing his nappies, something I'll have to tell him lol!

Wedding stresses....

Ah yes, it's that time, just 4 months till the big day and I can feel the anxiety creeping in, I've had this feeling before, yes.. the first time I got married. They say you forget the pain of having a baby, until the next time you have one, (please don't for a second think I am comparing the pain lol) and I think I remember what it was like last time getting things organised.

It is one of the happiest days of your life and you do try desperately to not worry about things, or stress... but I am sorry, it can't be avoided. I have a few dilemma's in my head right now, and it's hard to sort them out. The fact that I am getting married away from Vancouver adds to the anxiety I think, because I can't just round around doing things, it's a 4 hour drive to the wedding destination. One just has to hope and pray that it will all come together on the day.....right?

So I resat my knowledge test for my BC driving licence yesterday, passed yay! Now I can drive again, as long as accompanied by a fully licenced driver. I hope to be brave enough and sit my road test by June, hopefully I can pass first try. It seems a little silly, I know I can drive just fine, and after 5 years in Canada almost, my sensory skills, I think, have retrained for this side of the road and car.... oh yay! just in time to return to NZ in September and feel like a fish out of water there.
